Pre + Post Care

Prior to the Treatment:

  • Please submit Client consent form 1 day prior to your scheduled appointment

  • Discontinue usage of  any exfoliating agents (tretinoin, retinol, retin-a, differin, tazorac, avage, EpiDuo, and ziana,  benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, astringents, etc.) 7 days prior to treatment (consult with a medical physician prior to stopping medications)

Contradictions:

  • Swelling/Bruising/Cuts/Abrasions/Open Lesions

  • Waxing, threading or any other form of hair removal for 7 days - men do not shave 24 hours prior

  • Wait 7 days after your facial laser hair removal treatment to get any facial treatment at Skin Oasis

  • Isotretinoin (Accutane) *1 year prior to the treatment (consult with medical physician)*

  • Use of prescription retinoids (Tretinoin, Retin-A etc.) within 7 days

  • Malignant Skin Tumors

  • Aggressive exfoliation within 7 days

  • Botox/Fillers/Injectibles within 2 weeks

  • Cosmetic Surgery within 8 weeks (must follow physician all clear)

  • Cancer Therapy (chemotherapy/radiation)

  • Sunburn/ Extended sun exposure within 10 days

  • Active Eczema/Dermatitis/ Cold Sores/ Numerous raised lesions

  • Pregnancy (please advise as treatment may need to be altered)

After Care:

  • You may experience slight redness and swelling, which should resolve within 24 hours

  • Apply SPF 50 daily and reapply every 2 hours

  • Wait 7 days before applying prescription topicals or any products containing any exfoliating agents (retinoic acid, retinol, tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, astringents, etc.) for 4-7 days post treatment.

  • Wait 7 days after your facial treatment to get laser hair removal on face

  • Avoid excessive physical activity and sweating for 24 hours

  • Avoid waxing, threading or any other form of hair removal for 7 days

  • Avoid hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, tanning bed, chlorinated pools, and direct sun exposure for 48 hours

  • Avoid make-up 24 hours post treatment

  • Do not have any other facial treatments for at least 2 weeks after your treatment or until the skin is smooth and back to normal

  • Do not peel, pick, rub, or scratch your skin

Treatment Interval:

  • It is recommended to receive facials every 4-6 weeks
